Ahem… a customer has walked in.

Yesterday, I was at a networking meeting where members in that group meet for the purpose of exchanging referrals with each other.

Usually, the members in the group will invite some visitors for the purpose of either joining the group (if indeed their classification or profession is vacant in the group) or for the purpose of sharing a contact for possible connections.

So, yesterday we received a guest, invited by a member, and this guest was a bright, chirpy and above all, a sharp individual with an established business.

During the part when the group Chairperson invited this guest to share what he liked most about the meeting, he said, ‘This is great! I know of so many people, from my own family to some of my other contacts, who I can refer to buy various products from all of you’.

Inspiring?

Absolutely. You see, the purpose of inviting a guest to your group networking meeting is not only to possibly join the group, but to also refer business, whether they join or not.

When they refer their contacts to your group members, then it’s business via referrals and Word-of-Mouth.

So, pick up that phone, invite your guests to visit your networking group. You never know, it could mean money in your pocket, or more importantly, money in your colleague’s pocket. After all, it’s Givers Gain.

Ahem… a customer has walked in.

In this scenario, you just don’t know who will walk-in to your place. I would say, even if he is not there to join the group, I feel he is an established business person with powerful contacts behind him. We need more visitors like him. He is our customer. Honestly, I have generated business from visitors that came to my business networking group.

  2. Also, we can cut down on making cold calls. An established visitor as per article brings lots of ready business to this group of business people. What MATHEMATICS – one invitation and 20 to 30 members benefit from the contact’s introduction to others business people. Yahoo!

There is always a chance for members to know some contacts where they want it for a long long time. Contact belonging to each member is very unique, only the power of BNI can create the atmosphere.

Another case in point was today’s meeting at the BNI Ampang Chapter where we were introduced to Belinda’s guest. She did express that she is keen to conduct business with so many members!
