Discipline, discipline, discipline!

On my mind now

I was taken aback when I was requested to take a DISC analysis test. I thought it’s so old school?

Let me offer my insights:

A DISC analysis is a list of questions that attempts to identify your personality traits. But can it ever be accurate? I don’t think so. Because the answers you give are of the spur of the moment. It might not reflect the actual you within specific scenarios. And yet, by answering a DISC analysis, where the findings are used to map your career, certain prejudice might be formed, as people form assumptions about you, that you are either an organized, or chaotic, or laid-back or a go-getter.

My thoughts are, to evaluate people based on their discipline levels.

When I need to produce certain results, I adopt certain disciplines to help me achieve the results desired. And that’s how we should see people. Their ability to adopt certain discipline or self-discipline is more insightful than a mere DISC analysis.

What are your thoughts?

One Response on “Discipline, discipline, discipline!”

  1. Tim Kidd says:

Adaptive between all DISC groups depending on what is needed or required for each situation is the winner. Sometimes we need to be go get, sometimes we need to focus on details, often we need to be caring and thoughtful. A good mix of everything is the way forward. I’m glad to say Riyaz you have a great mix of all. AND discipline is a five star trait.
