Effective One to Ones
Hi,
Over the past few months, we have given great emphasis on conducting 1-2-1s effectively with your colleagues in your Chapter regularly.
Since late last year, we have conducted 1-2-1 Methods in your respective Chapters to help you generate effective results.
Here is the recap and a brief description of how to conduct an effective 1-2-1 with another member in your Chapter:
1. Refer to the material OnetoOneDanceCardPlanner attached. This is abridged from the Member Success Program Manual.
2. Refer now to Page 3 where the flow or sequence of events are clearly outlined.
3. Prepare all your worksheets, keep original copies (soft copies as well and suggest keep it updated at least on a monthly basis.)
4. Meet your colleague and have a conversation using all the worksheets. Bring along your contact list, and your appointment diary.
5. When meeting your colleague, go over all your contacts, in particular the last 10 customers. This is where there’s a strong link of loyalty and you will be able to generate referrals with ease!
6. Now, score some goals! Develop a short term referral immediately by making phone calls to your contacts by positioning your BNI member’s business effectively. Where needed, do go along for a personal introduction: introduce your BNI colleague to your contacts.
7. You’ll see that while it takes a bit of effort, the results are amazing.
8. Well, you can also spend the same time and efforts to develop a new client for yourself by cold-calling, or sitting in the office waiting for the phone to ring! Your choice.
My esteemed colleague and mentor, Tim Cook, BNI UK and Ireland National Director has kindly shared this video for your view. Really good! You’ll want to watch it over and over again.
We hope this helps.
This first half of 2012, we will be running monthly Effective 1-2-1 Methods program as part of our weekday workshop program for 90-minutes (10.30am to 12noon). Please watch out in your BNIConnect Homepage, under Events, or in the Events page in your brand new website!
