You would hear folks saying that the most dreaded phone call is the cold call to prospect for sales.

What’s your take on it? Agree? Disagree?

I would disagree that the most dreaded call is the cold call. Part of my existence in business is making calls and on the odd occasion, cold calls will be inevitable.

So, the most dreaded phone call to make is a phone call you promised to make which you did not at that time earlier promised.

With each passing hour beyond this promised time, this call gets more and more difficult. The phone becomes heavier. And yet the feeling of fulfilling your promise eats you up.

So what would you do if you were caught in this?

Still pick up the phone and call? Well, yes unfortunately for you, you will need to. And apologize for your bad behaviour. Apologize sincerely.

Make up for loss ground of reputation, no matter how difficult it may be. Caution is given that you may never recover fully in terms of credibility but this is at least an effort to regain a little.

So when it was said that procrastination is the thief of time, actually it also robs you of your sales as well. A customer is in the process of ordering from your competitor right this minute because you still did not call!
