Here is a tip to all BNI Chapter Leadership Team to better manage their Chapters, particularly in Agenda 14: ‘I Have’ section as follows:

For any members, particularly those caught short in referrals and don’t have anything to contribute, do help them by saying: ‘I am sure you will have plenty of referrals next meeting. In the meantime, can you please share briefly a positive benefit you have had since joining this Chapter?’ Then they will add something positive, and this simple turn-around for them will make them feel good for being able to contribute to the meeting. The energy all adds up to the end where the visitors feel empowered.

This is useful for both new members who may not have been able to burn-in the habit of developing referrals regularly, or even for the seasoned member who could be caught short.

Yes, it involves a bit of thinking on your feet, but then the reward for this effort is well worth it. When everyone has contributed something positive, they will feel good about themselves and this will come a long way.
