‘We were thrown out of heaven’

My business principal was in town the past week, and put up in a hotel with Executive floor access.

With that access, came privileges such as invitation to breakfast, evening meals, snacks, unlimited drinks, business center with internet, even laundry.

So there we were, enjoying what would be ‘the’ best hot chocolate in the whole of Asia, entertained guests, conducted meetings and discussions, got work done, and trust me, there was loads of work.

Fast forward to the last day, when had all checked out from the hotel, we obviously lost all the privileges, so the last meeting had to be conducted in the coffee house.

A buffet lunch cost RM99 per person. There were 3 of them, so this cost RM297. Equivalent to my one month’s grocery bill when shopping at Tesco.

I suppose the water poured in the coffee house wasn’t good enough, so some 0.5litre bottles had to be ordered. 3 of them. They were for free in the executive floor. But it cost RM8 each. Bad-ass, reckon so.

But of course, a business lunch will never be complete without a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice, so there went RM25 for a glass.

Total bill was RM402.

That’s what happens when you get thrown out of heaven!

Welcome to the ‘real’ world. Last meeting should have been done next door. The cost will be half. My morning coffee session for 4 person cost me RM101.

I think basically once you had all the good things in life is so tough to adjust to a pauper’s lifestyle !
Reacting to Hayati’s remark is that it all depends where you would like to be positioned at ?
