You need at least one enemy

On my mind now

One of the things I dislike whenever doing a review is when someone asks me to fill out the SWOT analysis. (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities, Threats)

While it is excellent to have the intelligence in hand, it is not the easiest thing in the world to come up with. I mean, how would you know your strengths and weaknesses. You would only know your good points but do many people know or are willing to know or admit to their bad points?

Yet, the SWOT analysis demands for this to be written down.

Ideas on how this done?

I came across a book where this was covered briefly where the writer said, you will need a friend who is downright honest with you, no holds barred and they will tell you what your strengths and weaknesses are. So can we call this friend now? Their number should be on your mobile, no?

Do these kind of ‘friends’ even exist? If you have one, well then, congratulations. Get going.

If not, what do you do then?

Ah, this is when you need to list down your enemies. You should have at least one. The bitter the enemy the better. Then invite them over for lunch and then ask them to tell you.

So now, I need an enemy. A credible one, at that. What a thought!
